What do you want for Christmas?
Hi everybody! Guess what!? The holidays are here! Can you believe it? Regardless of what holiday you are celebrating, I am here to help. This “for him” gift guide will give you some great ideas and insight into what “he” might want.
We all want to be THAT person that has our presents figured out prior to December. But, the fact is, life happens and we get busy. This is where your new favorite blogger, aka Beach Byrds, comes in. It’s my hope that this holiday guide will help you out, save you some stress, and let you be the best gift giver this season!
Below is my holiday gift guide “for him” addition (yes, I will be doing a “for her” guide for you to send to the man in your life to get him thinking!)! I will list out several products + brands that I have been into and think would be an awesome fit as a gift this holiday season. I want to preface this post by saying this is a guide! It is to get your creative ideas flowing because, ultimately, you know “him” better than I do. That being said, have fun reading and let the holiday season begin!
#1 Southern Shirt Company
Now, believe it or not, guys like to be comfy & cozy too! So, when you’re shopping this holiday season, you should definitely keep that in the back of your mind. I haven’t felt anything comfier/softer than Southern Shirts Sherpa Pullover (pictured in the middle). It is the perfect thing to wear on a chilly beach day, a snowy winter day or a day in between. I love it & have successfully kept it out of Molly’s hands! Jk, I got her a matching one & she agrees it’s the comfiest thing ever. But, they have so much more than comfy clothes. Southern Shirt has a full selection of flannels, polos, button-downs, shorts and more! They have a ton of different styles and colors, you are sure to find something for the guy you are shopping for.
In the pictures below, starting from left to right, I am wearing the Brighton Flannel (fits true to size), the Sherpa Pullover with the Nomad Shorts (comfortable, versatile & light weight) and the Basecamp Henley (good fit & easy to pair with jeans). I just checked out their website and here is my one sales pitch – they have an extended holiday return policy. Meaning, as long as an item is bought online before Christmas day, you have 60 days to return or exchange. Click HERE if you want to check out their policy. Ok that’s all I have to say… oh wait, I apologize in advance if you end up getting one of the Sherpa Pullovers for yourself. 🙂
Denim, denim, denim. You all know I have been into denim as of late. Whether it be jeans or a jacket it’s such a cool look and a must have in your closet. I would recommend looking on Nordstrom’s because they carry a ton of brands and they typically have free alterations. Some of my favorite denim brands and styles are Hudson Jeans (Blake Slim Straight), Paige Jeans (Federal), BlankNYC (Horatio), DL1961 (Russell) , RVCA , and Tommy Bahama. I have linked all these brands and be sure to check out their denim jackets + sherpas. All of these brands are made very well and will last “him” awhile. Pro tip… I NEVER dry any of my jeans or denim in the dryer!
So let’s talk a little about men’s grooming. In my eyes, this is probably one of the most overlooked fashion and styling routines. The only reason I say this is because guys are settling for average products. I”ll be honest… until this past year I was one of those guys that never had a grooming routine and never have quality grooming products. Now, I am far from an expert in this area but I have found higher than average products that actually work! That’s right you guessed it.. CREMO!
Believe it or not, I was cruising around Target needing some new shaving cream and found CREMO’s “Cooling Shaving Cream“. I was using a generic gel shaving cream but was drawn in by the sleek packaging and the fact that it said “cooling”. Obviously I had to get it and see if it work. Great purchase on my part. I used a tiny bit of it to start (probably a little more than the size of a dime) and was able to shave my whole face and even felt the “cooling” effect. Now, by no means do I grow a full on beard, but Molly likes when I have facial hair (weird right!?!?). So whether you shave everyday or maintain a full beard, CREMO has something for every guy out there.
Since finding the shaving cream I haven’t looked back and even bought some more of their products. I’ve come to be a huge fan of their Hair Styling Paste (I prefer the “thickening” style which is strong hold with low shine) and Body Wash (I like the “Reserve Blend” which has a masculine citrus smell). I actually bought their Reserve Blend Gift Set (more bang for your buck – $35 dollar value for $15) sold exclusively at Target this holiday season because I wanted to treat myself and try their cologne. I’m sure I will love it. For sure go check out CREMO when doing your “mans” holiday shopping this season.
Does he have any trips coming up? Chances are he does! Whether it is a weekend getaway, family vacation or an overseas trip it’s defiantly important to have something to hold all your things. Luggage and backpacks are great gifts because they last a long time and they actually get used! I have had my hard shell luggage for years and despite being tossed around they still get the job done. I am a huge advocate of Herschel Supply Co backpacks and carry-on luggage. Now, just because I prefer these products, something else might catch your eye or be a better fit for him. One thing I know is they use high quality material and have sweet style + colors guys will like! Another one I recommend, if he’s a serious traveler, is the Nomatic Travel Bag. They have one of the best all around bags & have thought of literally everything you want/need in a bag. Check ’em out!
He could probably use some new dress shoes. How about sneaker? Boots? If his current shoes need replacing or if you want him to have a little more shoe swag, you need to check out the selection from ALDO. I first got onto the ALDO train when I was working for a corporate company and needed to be suited up every single day. Their “Dress Shoes” are very stylish, comfortable and affordable so it was a no brainer for me. They lasted so long that I had to see what other shoes styles they had. I started on a “Sneaker” kick and then slowly came around to the idea of wearing “Boots“. Now, I am fully into the boot and pants look and let me tell you, ALDO has some sick boots! You defiantly need to give their site a look to see what will fit his style the best because they have so many options. They truly have shoes for every occasion and he will be stoked when he opens up the box. Trust me!
Oh, if your still doubting me, I have done a full blog post on ALDO, click HERE to read.
#6 Travis Matthew
The classic style of Travis Matthew is the perfect apparel for work and play. I dig some of their newer arrivals because they are transitioning into more of a lifestyle brand. If your shopping for a golf lover you can’t go wrong because that is how they took off! Make sure to check them out, he will love anything you get him!
#7 Coastal Co Box
Give him the gift that keeps on giving. Coastal Co Box formally know as Surf Shop Box is a quarterly subscription box that has stylish, casual clothing inspired by the coast. Every box has 4-5 items from top brands and the hottest newcomer. Apparel found inside the Coastal Co Box is over $180+ retail value but a subscription only costs $99. Such a steal! I get one every 3 months and am stoked every time it shows up at my door. It means I won’t have to go shopping and can still look good. It’s a guys dream!
Does he have a pair? If not, where has be been? I am a huge fan of UGGs and stoked that they have been expanding their shoe line. I love their slippers the desert boot, and chukkas. All of them are so soft inside it’s actually crazy. Beyond comfortable. One pair of UGGs is a must for every guy!
#9 Sports Apparel
Everyone has a favorite team. You probably know his by now… (if you don’t then don’t try and guess)! Go out and get him something that he can rock on game day. I recommend getting something from Fanatics since they have the most online selection. Personally, I like the retro jerseys but you know who your shopping for the best. Nothing wrong with getting a polo or hat if that is his style.
# 10 Speakers/Headphones
There are a ton of speaker and headphone companies out there these days. The one thing I will say is make sure you get something bluetooth. Whether he is taking a call or jamming out to some tunes it’s way better without a cord. I like the Apple AirPods, the Bose Soundlink Around the Ear Wireless Headphones, the Beats Powerbeats3 Wireless Earphones and the JBL Flip 4 Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker. Happy shopping!
#11 Urban Outfitters
Urban Outfitters literally has everything! I would absolutely suggesting starting here if you don’t like the 10 ideas before this. They have free shipping on orders over $50 and I am always stoked if I get something from UO. They have killer deals for Black Friday and Cyber Monday so check it!
He probably has a pair but you can’t have too many sunglasses. I would look at Nordstrom first to find a pair since they have always have a great selection. My favorite glasses brands are MVMT, Ray-Bans, Oakleys, Persol, Oliver Peoples and RAEN.
#13 Grilling Accessories
Just about every guy I know likes to grill. Does he? If not, then ignore this. You can’t have enough grilling toys as I like to say. Check out the link to shop some grilling accessories for the holidays. A new spatula? Some tongs? A thermometer? Charcoal? The options limitless so have fun shopping!
#14 Surfline Premium
So this one makes sense for me. For your guy, I don’t know. I will say, if he surfs, this is a must! Surfline Premium is a $95 a year and gives you access to hundreds of surf cams, camera rewinds and long-term forecasts. This is another gift that will keep on giving and if he surfs at all I can guarantee he will be checking Surfline everyday.
#15 In-Home Massage
Sounds weird, but guys work hard… There’s nothing better than being able to get home from a long day and relax with an OnDemand massage. I am a huge fan of Zeel and have been very impressed every time I have used them. There are a few other companies out there with the same business model so you can look around.
